The Colombian Peso and it's value against the US Dollar keeps being a regular guest in our Blog and our Newsletter. The last time we wrote about the Colombian Peso in this Blog was begin of October 2008, when the US Dollar was about to pass the 2,200 mark against the Colombian Peso. The US Dollar actually kept going up until 2,400, before it started taking a breather.
Now the US Dollar took another milestone against the Colombian Peso: Yesterday, it COP 2,500!
The last time the US Dollar bought that many Colombian Pesos was in July 2007, when the US Dollar briefly hit COP 2,600. It then pulled back all the way to a scary level of COP 1,680 in Summer last year, before it started staging a stunning recovery.
Why does this matter? Well, your vacation in Colombia keeps getting cheaper! The Expats who live in Colombia for sure are happy campers right now. Let's hope that the current trend will continue for a while.
